The first certificate of conformity was given to port in 2002 by the transnational technical society BVQI – the world leader in the field of certification which has confirmed, that Batumi Sea Port Limited became the first among all ports in post-Soviet space and Black Sea coast, awarded with such certificate.

In 2003, in connection with validity termination of the standard ISO 9002-1994 and transition to the new standard in Batumi Sea Port Limited, independent auditors of Bureau Veritas have carried out rеcertification and the international certificate of conformity to the new standard ISO 9001-2000 was handed to port.

"In result of next in turn oversight audit was conducted by leading auditors of Bureau Veritas in port of Batumi in July,2007, also view to the alteration of previous official name "Batumi Sea Trading Port" by new one, "Batumi Sea Port Ltd", the port obtained new Certificate of Compliance of International Standard ISO 9001-2000".
