Nauryz was celebrated for the first time in Batumi
Nauryz was celebrated for the first time in the capital of the
Autonomous Republic of Adjara - Batumi. The spring holiday united not only
Kazakhstanis living in Georgia, but also the multinational people of Adjara.
In his welcoming speech, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Georgia Malik
Murzalin noted that Nauryz embodies peace and kindness.
"This holiday is filled with joy and love, has a deep philosophical
meaning and global cultural significance, it is a holiday of unity and harmony,
as well as a truly nationwide celebration that promotes friendship and mutual
respect," Malik Murzalin said.
During the event, residents and tourists of Georgia were presented
Kazakh customs and traditions of "bata beru" and "shashu",
demonstrating the beauty and richness of the Kazakh cultural heritage. The
guests took part in competitions in such national sports as "asyk
ata", "arkan Tartu" and others.
During the cultural program, the ethno-folklore group "Ak
Shagyl" and the dance ensemble "Zhorga" from the Mangystau
region presented their creativity. The virtuoso performance of Kazakh works on
ancient national musical instruments and folk dances emphasizing our traditions
caused a standing ovation from the audience.
Guests of the holiday, residents and tourists of Batumi enthusiastically
got acquainted with the exhibits – national clothes and jewelry of the
Mangistau Regional Museum of Local History named after A. Kekilbayev, which
were exhibited in the Kazakh yurt.
