The meeting of the Kazakh-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission
The 12th
meeting of the Kazakh-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on
Trade and Economic Cooperation
was held in Astana.
The meeting was co-chaired
by Marat Karabayev, the Minister of Transport
of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and
Levan Davitashvili,
First Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia —
Minister of Economy and
Sustainable Development.
Mr. Tleugali U.,
General Director of Batumi Sea Port, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting,
a wide range of issues
related to bilateral relations
between Kazakhstan and
Georgia were discussed.
The main focus was
on strengthening trade and economic
cooperation, investments, as well
as the development of transport corridors
and logistics.
Also, issues
of energy, agriculture, education and
cultural exchange were discussed. Following
the meeting,
the protocol of the intergovernmental commission on
trade and economic cooperation
was signed.
The parties stressed
out the importance of further expanding
of cooperation in the field
of fuel and energy sector
and agreed
on new
initiatives aimed at deepening
the strategic partnership between
the two countries.
The next meeting
is scheduled for 2025
in Tbilisi.
