Business mission to Batumi


On November 28-th a delegation from Central Asian countries arrived at the port of Batumi under the auspices of the USAID Program for Trade in Central Asia (TCA), in order to familiarize themselves with the transport and logistics capabilities of the Batumi Sea Port as a logistics center for the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The delegates included private sector exporting companies, logistics companies, public sector officials and organizers of the USAID mission. The guests were met by the Managing Director for Commerce Mr. A. Dzhunusbekov, who emphasized the importance of the development of the Middle Corridor and the important function of the Batumi Sea Port as a transport and logistics hub connecting two continents – Europe and Asia. After that the presentation of the Port was conducted by the Operational Director T. Varshanidze, who acquainted the guests with the history, as well as technical and operational capabilities of the Batumi Sea Port.
