A delegation from the Chinese Railway visited the Batumi sea port

On December 05, 2023, a delegation from the Chinese Railway visited the Batumi Sea Port under the leadership of Mr. Huang Xin, Deputy Director of the Freight Transportation Department of China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., in order to consider issues of increasing container traffic through the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route connecting China and Europe.

The delegation included the heads of the Chinese Railway, representatives of the China Railway Container Company, China Railway International Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd., China Railway Design Group Co., Ltd., as well as representatives of CRCT Kazakhstan International Logistics Ltd., Xian International Trade and Logistics Park and the head of GR Logistics and Terminals.

The Managing Director of the Batumi International Container Terminal attended the meeting as invited guests.

The delegation was met by the Director General of the Batumi Sea Port and his deputies.

The guests got acquainted with the technical and operational capabilities of the Batumi Sea Port and the container terminal.

The meeting was held in a business atmosphere in the B2B format. Problematic issues in the logistics chain of the Middle Corridor, as well as ways to resolve them, were discussed at the meeting.

It was noted at the meeting that the multimodality of the corridor passing through two seas and the territories of numerous countries makes it possible to effectively use the capabilities of this corridor.

The participants of the meeting noted that their goal is to increase the volume of container traffic in 2024.
