Delegation of the People's Republic of China visiting the Batumi Sea Port
A delegation from
Xinjiang Province of China arrived in Georgia and visited the port of Batumi to
develop trade relations between our countries, also in order to understand
better the current situation in the field of intermodal transport and their
prospects.
During the meeting,
the heads of the Port familiarized the guests with the sea port infrastructure
as a link of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. The parties
unanimously noted the positive trends in the rapprochement of the countries
participating in the middle corridor, which connects China with Europe. The
proof of this is the new level of strategic partnership between Georgia and
China signed in 2023. As well as the deepening of relations and economic
activity between Kazakhstan and Georgia, which was confirmed during the visit
of the Head of the Government of Kazakhstan to Georgia. The new realities of
the global events provide new opportunities to improve the infrastructure of
transport corridors connecting the two continents and attract new investments
in transport and logistics projects.
Following the visit, the
guests noted the investment potential of the Port and expressed their
willingness to actively cooperate in the development of intermodal
transportation by sea and rail.
