The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route


Meetings of the Working Group and the General Meeting of the International Association "TCITR" were held in Almaty.

On February 7-8, 2023, field meetings of the Working Group and the General Meeting of the Association of Legal Entities "International Association "Trans–Caspian International Transport Route" (hereinafter - the Association) were held in Almaty (Kazakhstan).

From the side of the Batumi Seaport, the meeting was attended by the General Director of LLC "Batumi Sea Port" Tleugali Ulan Salamatuly and the Managing Director for Commerce.

During the meetings, the participants of the General Meeting were presented with a report on the results of the Association's activities for 2022. The final report noted a record increase in traffic on the TMTM route. So, over the past year, 1.5 million tons of cargo were transported along the TCIT route, which is 2.5 times higher than in 2021. The volume of container traffic amounted to 33 thousand containers in twenty-foot equivalent (TEU), which is 33% more compared to 2021.

A plan for the volume of cargo transportation along the route for 2023 has been approved, and agreements have also been reached on the issues of running a regular shuttle train on a fixed schedule and creating a single transit product.

In addition, the participants of the meetings discussed issues of improving the efficiency of work on attracting cargo to TCITR and further development of container transportation on the route.
